About 1.3 billion tonnes of food is lost and wasted globally every year, and one-third of all food produced, worth about US$1 trillion (Bt32 trillion), is lost or wasted in food production and consumption, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).

Accra generates nearly 603,000 metric tons of solid waste per year. and this contributes to the emissions of GHG which kills almost 250,000 people annually.

How We Work
Waste Sourcing
West African Feeds sources post-production food waste from a carefully curated list of vetted food waste suppliers.
Bio-Conversion
We then process the waste using farm raised black soldier fly larvae. During this stage, the food waste is decomposed into organic matter within 72 hours.
Harvesting
At the end of the process, we separate the compost and harvest the black soldiers fly larvae.
